Carlos Jose Orellana's Obituary
ORELLANA
Carlos Jose Orellana, beloved father, brother, uncle, son, and friend, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011, from injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. He is survived by his son, Joshua Daniel Orellana, and his former wife, Sara Shine Orellana, both residing in Miami, Florida. In San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Carlos is survived by his father, Leoncio Orellana; his brothers, Manuel Orellana and Daniel Orellana; his sisters, Sergia Delfina Rodriguez and Waldina Orellana; and 6 nieces and nephews.
A native of Honduras, Carlos arrived in Miami in April 1986, where he met and married Sara, and where Joshua was born. He resided in Miami until 1993, when he and his family moved to Western North Carolina for four years, returning to Miami in 1998, where he resided until his death.
Carlos’s passions in life were three – his son, Joshua; cars; and Honduras. Carlos was most recently employed at Dadeland Dodge, but is known well for his years of not-for-profit work both as a volunteer and employee at Daily Bread Food Bank.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2011, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel in Coral Gables, 4600 S.W. 8th St. As was Carlos’s request, his remains will be returned to Honduras, where he will be interred with his mother in the family vault.
