Boysie Stewart's Obituary
It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Boysie Stewart. He passed away peacefully at his home in Miami Florida surrounded by his family on Wednesday December 18th 2024.
He was born on Tuesday June 23rd 1942 in May Pen (Clarendon Parish) Jamaica, where he was raised by his mother Edith Hamilton along with his six siblings. He lived in Jamaica until 1961, when at the age of 19, he emigrated to London England, where he studied to become an electrician, which he worked at for over 40 years until retirement.
While in London, he met and married Doreen, and later had two children Wayne and Nichola. Boysie along with his family emigrated to Miami in 1988.
He was a kind compassionate man who loved to help others, and always had time to help family or friends. He was a humble man, who did not judge others, and always had cash in his car for those who had fallen on hard times.
Throughout his life he had a passion for gardening, and wherever he lived, he always created a peaceful garden sanctuary, where he would spend hours tending to his fruit trees, vegetables and plants. This pastime led him to a decade long volunteer at Fairchild Botanical Gardens.
He loved to travel and took many trips around the world with Doreen. He enjoyed playing chess, watching cricket (especially his beloved West Indies) and classic old movies.
Boysie is survived by his wife Doreen, son Wayne and daughter Nichola, sisters Allalia, Hyacinth, Patricia, Eunice, Vuralee, brother Sydgrell and several nephews and nieces, including Danny, Marlon, Collen and Stephanie, and friend of almost 60 years Henton.
A man of true integrity, Boysie stood firm in his beliefs, and he devoted himself to giving his family the best life, rarely worrying about his own needs. For this we are entirely thankful, and his legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
