Blanca Elena Delgado's Obituary
DELGADO, BLANCA ELENA, (nee Castro Portela), 61 years of age, passed away in Miami, on
January 12, 2012. Blanca Elena was the daughter of Dolores M. Castro and the late Jose M.
Castro. She is also survived by her brother, architect Jose Castro. She was born in Matanzas,
Cuba and resided in Miami for 50 years. A graduate of Miami Edison Senior High School in 1970,
she had a successful career in banking where she was admired and loved by her many friends
and colleagues. She was a devoted daughter and had a heart of gold who thought nothing of
giving to others what she did not have. Blanqui, as she was known to her family, loved children
and animals.
A special mass will be offered in her memory on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at
St. Dominic Catholic Church located at 5909 N.W. 7 Street, in Miami. Instead of flowers, the
family wishes that donations be made to the Humane Society of Greater Miami
