Barbara Sterling Shaver's Obituary
Shaver, Barbara Sterling (Monte), 66, of Pembroke Pines, formerly of Kendall Lakes, died of cancer on January 6, 2010. She was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and moved to Florida in 1972. She was Managing Director of the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis at the Miami Project associated with the University of Miami. Barbara is survived by her husband, Scott Shaver, daughters Deborah Smith (Mark), of Jacksonville, and Jennifer Shaver, of Pembroke Pines; son Michael Monte, of Port St. John, grandchildren Kaitlyn Smith, Emily Smith and Nicholas Monte; mother Blanche Sterling, of Kendall Lakes; sister Bonnie Sterling, of Kendall Lakes; brother William Sterling (Nancy), of Milwaukee, WI; and nephews William A. Sterling, Alexander Sterling and Mitchell Sterling. A Celebration of Life Service in Barbara’s honor will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 254 Curtiss Parkway, Miami Springs, Fl. 33166, 305-888-2871.
