Barbara Ann Kimball's Obituary
Barbara Ann Kimball, daughter of Harvey and Cornelia Hughes, was born on September 30, 1934 in Highland Park, New Jersey. She went to heaven on August 7, 2020.
She graduated from University of Miami and received a Bachelor of Music. She graduated from Florida International University and received a Master of Science in Secondary Education. Barbara professionally played the French horn. Her musical performances include: University of Miami Symphony, Caesar LaMonaca’s Band, Miami Opera Guild Orchestra, Guys and Dolls Orchestra, Oklahoma Orchestra, Tea for Two Orchestra, Fiddler on the Roof Orchestra, Hollywood Philharmonic, Miami Beach Symphony, FIU Community Wind Ensemble and Old Cutler Presbyterian Church. She also played in the Hand Bell Choir at the church. Her experience other than musical performance included: choir director of Southside Baptist Church, substitute teacher Dade County schools, string program director of Henry S West Laboratory School, assistant conductor at FIU summer band camp, assistant conductor FIU youth band, and private lessons in French horn, trumpet, violin and beginning piano.
Barbara planned to swim the English Channel and took lessons from Albert D. Kimball whom she married on June 1, 1955. She had a happy marriage until she lost her beloved husband in 1999. She will forever be cherished by her six children: Fred, Albert, Robert, John, Ann, Patricia, and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Charlotte Mulder and many nieces and nephews.
She should be remembered in death as she was in life..a kind, loving, and giving soul.
Barbara will be interred at a private service for the family on August 13, 2020.
