Augusto Lau's Obituary
Augusto Lau was born on March 28th, 1993, and passed on November 30th, 2024. He was born to Alcira Blanco and Patricio Lau in Nicaragua. Born in Nicaragua, Gus moved at an early age to the United States, residing in Miami, Florida for the remainder of his youth. Post-marriage, Gus moved to Kannapolis North Carolina with his family to forge a new and exciting path for his life.
Gus Lau was a kind, gentle, affectionate man who was regarded as a person worthy of trust and respect. Gus was passionate in many ways, primarily for his family and love of volleyball. Gus enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his son, being seen and heard having wonderful and vivid conversations while walking with his toddler son.
Gus was known to give the shirt off his back if it would help his friend or neighbor. He was a man recognized for the size of his heart and endless smiles. Gus’s ability to care for those around him had friends and family naturally gravitate towards his unbound spirit. To his siblings, he was the energetic and charismatic baby of the family. To his numerous nieces and nephews, he was the funny and crazy uncle. And to his mother, he was a never-ending source of love.
Gus's spirit and love shall remain a constant in the memories of the Lau Family and those privileged enough to be called friends.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
