August “Augie” Cantin III
Died December 2 surrounded by family after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife Linda and sons, August IV (Lisa), Scott (Daniella), and daughters Cheryl, Laurie Lima (Gus), Christie Davis (Phillip), and 10 grandchildren.
A native of New Orleans he moved to Miami 32 years ago with Delta Air Lines and became the District Director of Marketing for South Florida and the Bahamas. He was instrumental in forging long term partnerships with the sports teams in South Florida and the cruise industry at its inception.
Augie was a lover of nature, man of high standards, tender hearted, great fisherman, doer of deals, notorious delegator and a true gentleman.
The viewing will be Sunday, December 6, from 3 pm to 5 pm, followed by a service at 5 pm.
