Arturo H. Salow's Obituary
Arturo H. Salow, 86, born October 4, 1923 in Havana, Cuba, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2010. He was the son of Ferdinand Salow and Helene Hartwig of Hamburg, Germany. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Adria G. Salow, their eight children: Virginia(Eugene) Rivera, Adria H.(Marlon) Labi, Patricia Freyre, Elizabeth Quintana, Arturo O.(Katie) Salow, Theresa Engelke, Alexander (Elaine) Salow, and Cecilia (Carlo Serrano) Salow; son-in-law Julio Freyre; 26 grandchildren; Cristina, Victor, Ana, Eric, Grace, Justin, Carolina, Aileen, Daniel, Michael, Julio, Robert, Amanda, Sara, Arturo, Jr., Nicholas, Catherine, Ellie, Jessica, Melissa, Allison, Alex, Jr., Andrew, Anthony, Mia, Olivia ; four great-grandchildren, other family, and many friends. A graduate of the University of Havana in Civil Engineering, he left Cuba for the U.S. in 1960, and worked as a board-certified civil engineer and general contractor for more than forty-five years. He was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Miami Shores and participated in the development of Notre Dame Academy and Archbishop Curley High School. His kindness to others was unparalleled, but his greatest pride and joy was his family, who miss him dearly and will love him forever. A viewing will be held on Thursday April 15, 2010 at Van Orsdel Funeral Home from 7:00pm-11:00pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday April 16, 2010 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 415 N.E. 105 St. Miami Shores at 11:00am with burial to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 1500 South State Rd 7 Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
