ANNE M ESKRA's Obituary
Anne Marie Eskra of Coral Gables, FL passed away
peacefully on January 10 at the age of 90 and is
survived by her 5 children, Diane Offereins, Chris Eskra,
David Eskra, Peter Eskra and wife Catherine and
Michael Eskra and wife Lauren along with 10
grandchildren.
Born on January 5, 1933 in Olean, NY to John and Mary
Catherine Gavin, she attended St. Mary’s church and
graduated from Olean High School. She went on to
study nursing in Canisius College in Buffalo, NY where
she met her future husband, Michael Eskra, who was
attending St. Bonaventure University.
Anne and Michael were married on June 8, 1955 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in
Olean, NY. They moved to Pittsburgh, PA for a brief period before moving to
Coral Gables, FL where she lived for the remainder of her life. Michael Eskra
passed away in October of 2015.
Anne was a Board Member of the Marian Center, active at Christopher
Columbus High School, The Women's Club and the Easterseals “Gilded Lilies”.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Van Orsdel Funeral Home,
4600 SW 8th St, Coral Gables, FL 33134, from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be
held on Friday, Feb. 3 at 1:30 at St. Augustine Church, 1400 Miller Rd, Coral
Gables, FL 33146 with a reception immediately following at Anne’s home, 2716
Granada Blvd., Coral Gables, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marian
Center, https://www.mariancenterschool.org, and to Camillus House, https://
www.camillus.org, organizations Anne felt strongly about.
