Ann Shallcross Zinni's Obituary
Our beloved Ann Shallcross Zinni passed away June 17, 2024, after a long health battle.
Ann was born in Maryland where she spent her early childhood on the farm with her grandparents. After graduating high school, she worked for the DuPont company in Wilmington, Delaware, the city where she met her husband Frank. They moved their family to her favorite place, South Florida, over 50 years ago.
After raising her three daughters, who filled her with great pride, Ann led a full life, notably becoming the first woman president of her condo board. She was also a fierce women’s rights activist, competitive duplicate bridge player, and enjoyed dancing and traveling around the world after her retirement. One of her most cherished roles was being a grandmother. The unconditional love and pure joy she brought to being a “Nana” was unmatched.
Ann is survived by her daughters Margaret, Christina (Kent), and Carmela, grandchildren Lydia, Camille (Brian), and Brandon, great granddaughter Natalie, sister Beverly (Benjamin), and nephew Fabio (Kristen). She is predeceased by her husband Frank.
