ANN P MUNLEY's Obituary
Ann P. Munley of Coral Gables, FL died on July 1, 2023 surrounded by three generations of her loving family. She was born in Hazleton, PA and came to Coral Gables in 1948, where she lived for 75 years. She was married to Robert J. Munley for 54 years, who passed away in 2002.
She attended Kings County Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY, where she received her RN. She then attended NYU before coming to the University of Miami, where she studied advanced nursing. After WWII, she worked at the Biltmore for 5 years, while it was a VA hospital. After raising her children, Janus and Bobby, she went on to work for Dr. Sheppard at St. Luke’s Methadone Drug Treatment Center for 15 years - a job she treasured. Mrs. Munley was active in her church; Little Flower Junior Woman’s Club and Coral Gables Woman’s Club; Florence Crittenton and the St. Theresa, Our Lady of Lourdes and Christopher Columbus High School’s Home and School Associations.
She is survived by her daughter, Janus Munley Greer and her son-in-law, Dr. Pedro Jose “Joe” Greer, Jr., her grandchildren Peter Joseph “Joey” Greer and Alana Greer, and her great grand-daughter, Paloma Greer Garcia. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Munley, her son, Robert M. “Bobby” Munley, and her seven siblings.
A memorial mass will be held Monday, July 10th, 2023 at 1 PM at Church of the Little Flower followed by burial at Miami Memorial Park.
