Angela Fagen's Obituary
Angela Fagen, age 96, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 6,
2024. Angela was born in Italy in 1927. At the end of World War II at 20 years of age,
she emigrated to the United States, where she became a U.S. citizen. She was an
expert seamstress and was employed in that capacity at various textile and clothing
companies both in New York and Florida. Later she worked as a cashier in two local
chain stores, where her regular customers enjoyed her friendly banter and exceptional
customer service. Angela was an excellent cook and was famous for preparing an
extensive family dinner once a week even into her nineties. Her Italian dishes were, of
course, superb, but she was skilled in preparing dishes from many different cuisines. At
Christmastime, everyone, from the cashiers and clerks at her local pharmacy and
grocery store, to her doctors, to her neighbors and friends, looked forward to receiving a
batch of her famous pizzelles. She also enjoyed reading and shopping. Angela was
known as Nonna to her grandchildren, and she was always available to help with raising
them. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Silva, Lisa Brito, and Rose Anne Healy;
sons-in-law, Brent Silva and Bill Healy; grandchildren, Brent Silva II, Brandon Silva,
Vaughn Brito and his wife, Fernanda Gomez Brito, Catherine Healy, and Jonathan Brito;
and great-grandchild, Vaughn Brito Jr. Angela’s remains will be transported by her family
to her beloved hometown in Italy. A “Celebration of Angela’s Life” memorial event in
Miami will be announced in the near future.
