Andrew E Zakis Sr's Obituary
Zakis, Andrew E., Andrew Emmanuel Zakis, Sr., a native Miamian, was born December 4, 1937, to Emmanoel A. (Mike) and Dorothy Jane Zakis. He graduated from Miami Jackson SHS, where he played trumpet in the marching and concert bands, and Dade County Junior College. Andrew retired from At&T (Western Electric) after 30 years of service. He was proud to have achieved the rank of black belt in Tae Kwan Do. Andrew is survived by Mary Lynn (nee Bessey), his wife of 55 years, and 2 children, Andrew Jr., and Michele. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Jane Butler and Catherine Alpizar (Hugo) and an aunt, Stella Phelps. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 10 AM at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel, with a cryptside service at Miami Memorial Park at 11:30 AM.
