Alvaro Vega's Obituary
Alvaro Jesus Vega Duarte, of Miami, Florida, was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on September 18, 1953. He was the sixth of 10 children born to Luis Vega and Aurora Duarte Vega.
He moved to the United States in 1969 and lived in New Jersey, California and later settling in Miami, Florida.
Alvaro accomplished his training in Automotive Mechanics and Refrigeration Repair. He was a master at his trade and owned and operated his own towing company and later a mobile auto repair service. He loved helping others with their cars and at their businesses.
Alvaro met and married his wife, Emilse Sanchez, while living in New Jersey. They were married in 1973 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, in Paterson. Together they were blessed with two children, Michael and Susan.
Alvaro loved to swim and fish as a young boy in Colombia with his brothers. He continued that passion while living in Miami, Florida. He loved going to the beach to swim, fish and eat seafood.
Alvaro is survived by his wife, Emilse; his children, Michael and Susan; his grandchildren, Madison, Mario and Melanie; his son-in-law, Mario; his sisters, Norma, Nury, Lucy, Patricia and Monica; his brothers, Carlos, Walter and Ed; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and family members.
He is preceded in death by his father Luis, his mother Aurora and his brother Luis Jr.
Alvaro will especially be remembered for his sense of humor and free spirit, he was one of a kind.
He was well loved and will be deeply missed.
