ALICIA VARAS RUDICK's Obituary
ALICIA VARAS,RUDICK
Throughout her long life, Alicia - known to all as “Beba” - showed true mettle. On June 2, she passed away quietly at home after a long illness, at the age of 87. Beba was born and raised in La Habana, Cuba, where she lived with an extended and loving family. In 1960, she moved to the United States with her two daughters; she was 34. Beba worked to raise her family, starting as a secretary at an investment firm and retiring as a bond trader. After an early first marriage and divorce in Cuba, in her 50s she married her beloved Bert Rudick, who predeceased her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, most especially her daughters Maria Cristina and Alicia and granddaughters Laura and Ana Carolina. Donations to the National Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers. Visitation at Van Orsdel on Kendall Drive, Wednesday, 6:00-10:00 pm, and Mass of the Resurrection at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Coral Gables, Thursday, 10:00 am, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Park South.
