I’m so sorry to hear of Luca’s passing. I grew up enjoying frequent meals with Luca and Theo over the last 20 years, as close Zuo family friends. They have both been very kind and generous to me and my family, always happy to warmly share gifts, food, and laughter.

Dear Theo, it was great shock for me to learn the sad new that Luca has gone, so unexpectedly and prematurely... We were good friends with him, it was great when he visited Dubna a few times after Millenium and I remember your infinite kind hospitality when I was in Miami. After the last disaster he wrote to me by e-mail few optimistic messages , and I was sure that he has already restored. We with my wife Larissa will miss him very-very much.

Please accept our deep condolences on passing away of such a remrakable man, friend and scientist and pass them to all his relations. We shall remember him always.

We will miss Luca - a man whose intellect, charisma, and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. As a revered physics professor, Luca was not just an educator but a beacon of inspiration for his students and colleagues alike. His vivacious personality and razor-sharp mind drew people in, fostering a community of learning and curiosity, and creating a network of friendships that spanned the globe. He loved gatherings with friends and was a fun and gracious host.

His wonderful wife, Teofana, stood by Luca’s side during his illustrious career, sharing in his triumphs and providing solace during the challenging times. Her presence was a constant source of strength, especially during Luca’s long hospital stays in the past year.

Luca leaves behind a world richer for having known him, and while his absence is deeply felt, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of calling him a friend, mentor, and loved one. Rest in peace, dear friend!
