Agnes Poulin's Obituary
Agnes Poulin 91, of Miami (Agnes Jennie Cahoon) departed this world on November 15, 2023. She was born in Harwich, Massachusetts on June 19, 1932 to Archilus and Mary Cahoon and had one sister, Rita. Growing up in Pleasant Lake, Cape Cod she loved Long Pond (ice sailing & swimming with Daddy’s decoys), cranberries and the local seafood. After high school at Harwich High, she attended nursing school at Mass General. She then interned in the surgical department and later met and married her husband Raymond in Boston in 1957. After honeymooning in Miami, the couple relocated there permanently. She began her nursing career in Miami at Victoria Hospital. Later, she moved to Mercy Hospital working in the emergency room; and retired there after 30+ years. She truly loved her many coworkers and forged lifetime friendships and relationships like family. A dedicated and caring nurse where patients often recalled her kindness, she also provided triage care for her neighbors when needed. A wonderful cook known for her holiday gatherings, pies and special requested birthday cakes. When she surrendered this over to the family she lovingly assisted and provided guidance and recipes. Lover of all animals especially her cat Digger, family grandpets and was an avid bird watcher. A voracious reader she had a large library of books. She had an artistic touch creating flower arrangements and had a green thumb keeping a small garden and assisting with a family vegetable garden. She often liked looking up at the sky and clouds especially admiring the big white fluffy ones – this is where we will look when we think of her. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have met her, known her or loved her – she touched many hearts. Predeceased by her parents, husband Raymond G. Poulin, sister (Marguerite) Rita Root and son Mark R. Poulin. Survived by children; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Willliam Attias, grandson Chad Kishick and wife Jenny, daughter Marie and son-in-law Carlos Vera, grandson Joshua Poulin, daughter Melanie & grandson Jason Fernandez, cousins Toni Wordell and Jane Gilchrist and nephew David Root and other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations to Bright Focus or plant a tree in her name via link in tribute page. Private gathering to be held at a later date.
