Adam Daniel Hurd's Obituary
Adam Daniel Hurd passed away peacefully on June 24, 2010 in MIami, Florida after a
brief battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. He leaves behind his son, William, of
Columbia, Maryland; his parents, MIchael and Sandra Hurd of Elkridge, Maryland, and
a brother, Ryan, of Arbutus, Maryland. He was engaged to Andrea Lauzon of Miami,
Florida, and was very close to her parents, Tim and Nina. He is also survived by
grandparents, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Adam was born on February
17,1982, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He spent a majority
of his childhood overseas, returning to Maryland in 1994. He was a 1999 graduate of
Howard High School in Ellicott City, Maryland. He also attended several colleges in
Maryland and Florida, most recenlty Florida International University, and was within
one semester of completing his Bachelors in Business Administration with a
concentration in Management Information Systems. In addition to being a full-time
student, he was also employed full-time by the Kubicki Draper law firm in Miami as a
billing coordinator. During his high school years and following graduation, Adam was
a member of Baltimore's Marching Ravens as a percussionist. He was a talented
electronic musician and budding artist with a keen interest in esthetic photography,
especially while traveling. He was looking forward to his life with Andrea and
increasing his involvement in William's life. Adam also intended to return to the
Marching Ravens, had his health permitted. In lieu of flowers or charitable
donations, Adam's family and friends are asked to hold their donations until an
appropriate account is set up for William's college education and transition into
adulthood. A brief memorial service will be held at the VanOrsdel Chapel on Kendall
Drive in Miami on June 30, 2010. A separate celebration of Adam's life will be held
in Maryland at a later date.
