ABNER P. LAWTON JR's Obituary
LAWTON, ABNER P, JR., 83, June 2 2018. Resident of Miami, Florida, 70 years. Attended Coral Gables High School (Class of 1953) and served in the U.S. Army 1956-1958. After serving in the Army, Abner married his high school sweetheart, Betty Sutton of Coral Gables in 1959. In 1960, he completed his business degree and graduated the University of Miami. Later that same year, Abner joined the sales team at American Hospital Supply, which later became Baxter International, where he retired after 30 years. Abner was a loyal fan of University of Miami athletics and a long-time active member of the UM Hurricane Club. Abner enjoyed RV travel with his wife of 56 years, fishing, and their many Golden Retrievers. Abner is survived by his daughter Jenny; son Robert (Jennifer); granddaughters Jordan and Ava; and several nieces and nephews. Abner is the son of Abner and Grace Lawton, Sr. of Providence, Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or the UM Sports Hall of Fame. Receiving of friends and relatives at 1PM with refreshments served until 3PM memorial service Friday, June 22, 2018 at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES CHAPEL
