Angie was a close family friend and in fact, a family relative on my father’s side. When I was little, I remember going to her home in Sweetwater, Miami with my mom for playdates with her girls. She always had a cold pitcher of freshly squeezed lemonade for us, along with some kind of delicious homemade treat. Later, I would attend high school with the girls and even roomed with Lisa for a time in college. Ruth sang at my wedding. They were family. After retirement, Angie and my mom spent time together going to the movies, or visiting other friends like Lilian, Laura and Margot. When my mom began showing signs of dementia, I would take her to visit Angie, so they could visit, not knowing how much longer they would be able to enjoy the company. Angie was always understanding and put on a pot of coffee for us. It has been a privilege to know Angie and her family. Ruth, Lisa and Rose Anna, I send my heartfelt condolences to you and your families on the loss of your beloved mom, Nonna and great grandma.
