TRIBUTE FOR HERBERT MASTERS: "THE DEAN"
June 14, 2016
John 1:47 KJV
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
We are confident that just as Jesus said about Nathaniel in John 1:47, the Saviour would also have said about Herbert "The Dean" Masters:
"Behold a Jamerican indeed, in
whom is no guile!"
The Dean's legacy is this: he was "A MAN OF GOD " - pure and simple. He was a spiritual giant among men who walked and talked softly but wielded a big sword - the Word of God!
Sandra and I remember him not as a self-righteous, pompous, "holier than thou", "know it all", but as a truly humble, "top ranking" servant-leader who became a father-like, Christ centered role model for fledgling young Christians like us back in Hartford, Connecticut during the 1980s and beyond. Thanks Dean Herbert Masters for the precious memories!
We are privileged and blessed to have known this great man of the Word and the Spirit. He is dearly missed on this side of Jordan and we are looking forward to be reunited with him on the other side "some sweet day". For his beloved wife, "Aunt Moms" (our adopted mother ) and dear family and loved ones, be comforted with this blessed assurance, the Dean is now at rest from his labors safe and secure in the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ.
