Aunty Yvonne...rest well.
It is difficult to put into words what a special person she was and how much of an impact she had on those around her. To me, she was far more than my high school friend's mom (Lisa-Anne), she was someone who made every child who walked through her door feel loved, welcomed, and cared for.
One of the things I will always remember about her was how deeply she cared, not just for her own children but for all of us who were fortunate enough to be part of their lives. She always made sure we were fed and would offer tea as well which I always loved. Aunty Yvonne worried about our well-being, made sure we got home safely after sleepovers, and looked after us with the same attentiveness and warmth she showed her own family. Looking back, those gestures may have seemed small at the time, but they were powerful expressions of her love and generosity.
A memory that will forever make me smile is seeing her driving her red car around the roundabout at Immaculate High School to pick up Lisa-Anne after school. I can still picture her so clearly, her beautiful hair cascading over her shoulders, carrying herself with such elegance and confidence that she looked like a Hollywood star. It was one of those everyday moments that seemed ordinary then, but now stands out as something I will treasure forever.
What I admired most about her was the way she lived her life. She was a God-fearing woman whose faith was reflected in her actions. She carried herself with strong principles, kindness, dignity, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She taught by example, showing what it means to care for others selflessly and to live with integrity.
Although she is no longer here, her presence remains in the memories she created and in the lives she touched. I know that whenever I think of her, I will remember her warmth, her beauty, her faith, and the love she so freely gave to everyone around her. I feel grateful to have known her, and thank Lisa for sharing her with me. I will carry those memories and the lessons she embodied with me always.
Love you Aunty...Doneika Plowright

I'm reminiscing about Yvonne, a beautiful soul I met over 40 years ago. Her warm and sincere smile was captivating, but it was her heartfelt prayers that truly left an impression. Yvonne had a gift for affirming others and lived her Christian life with an unconventional yet unwavering dedication to her faith. Her ultimate goal was to see Jesus, and I pray that she's been accounted faithful in anticipation of the 1st resurrection. I still chuckle when I think about the time a young child, fascinated by Yvonne, exclaimed, "Mommy, the dollie can talk!" Yvonne will always be remembered fondly.
