Rev. Rivers was truly a man of God and I know with certainty that God opened His arms and welcomed him with the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” I met Wallace when he was employed at Christ Fellowship Church in Perrine, Fl. He later became a loving member of our family as he faithfully ministered to my sister, Diana, in her numerous hospital visits. In time we nicknamed him, “Old Man Rivers.” When Diana transitioned from this life into the heavenly realm after years of suffering, it was only appropriate that Rev. Wallace preach her funeral.
Our family would later mover to Tavares, Fl where my brother, Ed Branch, would meet up with his fellow retired police officer, David Rivers. We would laugh and reminisce about Wallace.
The Branch and Overton family send our sincere sympathy to the family of Wallace Rivers. All our love and prayers to Joyce and David. Cherish your memories and know that Wallace no doubt has a crowd around him as he recounts his numerous stories about his vast experiences that he has amassed over the years. We dearly loved Wallace.
