Roderick Knott

Roderick Knott (July 15, 1928 – January 29, 2022) Roderick was born in Elizabeth New Jersey to Sarah (nee MacLellan), and William Knott. He served in the Marines at Tonopah, Nevada. He met his first wife, Marion Poston (nee Kuhn) and worked with her at Pan American Airlines. He then started studying the law at Rutgers University. In the 60’s he moved to Miami and decided on a family. Marion was unable to have children and his favorite saying “A single orphan has no relatives” came into play and they started to adopt. Eventually he adopted 6 children. He went on to finish his law studies receiving his Juris Doctorate at the University of Miami. The family traveled to Canada and Australia, but always returned to Florida. He started his law career as the Attorney in Charge for the Miami Branch of the US Securities and Exchange Commission. He then went into private practice with Adolfo del Castillo. Eventually he finished his law career with CNA. He remarried twice to Pat Kouloukas and eventually his current wife Myriam Ortiz. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and his wife Marion: He is survived by his children: Katherine Little of Wasilla Alaska, Jonathan Knott of Miami, Belle Neumann of Ft Collins Colorado, Wade Knott of Miami, Juli Oquendo of Miami, Chris Knott of New York, Chris Kouloukas of Georgia, Nicholas Kouloukas of Miami, Nelson Ortiz of Miami and Eddie Ortiz of Miami. His grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ani, Robert, Cassandra, Jack, Tony, Cole, Niko, Brooke, Ryan, Devin, Vincent, Ashley. Alex and Sam. His Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Waylon, Malakai, Marley, Jonathan, Anthony, Liam and Story. The family plans a private service.
