Nelly Pancirer
June 20, 1937 - April 4, 2022
Nelly Pancirer was a caring mother, wife and friend. She left this world on April 4th, 2022 at age 84. She was born Montevideo, Uruguay. She lost her father at a young age, and she was very close to her mother and brother Alfredo who are no longer with us. After graduating from College, she worked in the International Banking field and she also worked in the Import-Export field as Office Manager. In 1963 she married Salomon Pancirer and they enjoyed a happy life together. After giving birth to her daughter Sandra, she decided to leave her job and dedicate herself to raising a family. After the death of her beloved mother following a long illness in 1973, she decided to continue her English studies and later obtained an English & English Proficiency Degree from Cambridge University. She taught English in her native country Uruguay. In 1979, she and her family came to the United States and later they became US Citizens. Nelly was proud to be able to start a new life in her adopted homeland. She worked in International Private Banking and earned many accolades in that field. After the death of her husband in 2008 she continued to care for her family and friends with great love and devotion. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, especially baking, reading, writing and above all she loved God, and she loved life. She volunteered many hours at her church and always cared about those who were in need. She was a caring and loving mother, daughter and wife. There are no words to describe the sadness her passing means to those who knew her and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Sandra and nieces and nephew, Silvana, Roxana and Marcelo. As I write this words I remember all the beautiful moments we shared and I can only say that I love you Mom, and I will always remember you and although we are no longer together you will always live in my heart. Finally, I would like to share some words from one of hers and mine favorite poets, Rabindranath Tagore: Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet. Let it not be a death but completeness. Let love melt into memory and pain into songs. Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings over the nest. Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night. Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last words in silence. I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way. from The Gardener, Verse 61.
