I knew Mark when he was the Commanding Officer of Charlie Company, 78th Engineer Battalion, Rheinland Kaserne, Ettlingen, Germany. At that time I was the Battalion Legal Clerk. Thankfully, in large part to he and his NCO staff, my workload with C Co was relatively light, compared to other companies. He was such a great officer, easy to talk to and I respected him so, so much. I extend my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all his family.
