Dear Ken,
When I saw you last night, so many things rushed through my mind and stirred my emotions. You looked good, but without those shining eyes, beautiful, warm smile, and especially those great dimples. But more than anything, Ken, you looked at peace, and I thank God for that because I will carry that with me forever. For over 7 years you suffered with that monster in your body, and you did it with such grace. I always respected your privacy, but was glad that you did share some of your heartache with me, and that we could have our little chats about the horrors you were going through during our late nights at the office, of which there were many. I treasure those times now, because I know there were few people you would discuss this with, and I am honored to know that you felt comfortable enough to talk about it with me.
We have worked side by side for over 20 years in the crazy, but enriching world of real estae. In the same RE/MAX office and in the same small town, yet never feeling the demands and pressure of being competitors. That's because of our different styles and our great respect for each other.
I have missed you since you retired late last year, but I will miss you even more knowing that we cannot talk even via e-mail. But, Ken, I know that your faith has been your partner, and that you are in a wonderful place now. You are at peace, pain free, and with your Mother amd your God. Does it get any better than that!
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to your family, who I had the pleasure of meeting last night. You and I both know the value of family, and I am so glad that you were able to spend such quality time with them during your worst times. God Bless you, Ken.
Love,Sue Nelson
