Jeannett Slesnick, a former Coral Gables city commissioner, mayoral candidate, real estate impresaria and the city’s first lady during husband Donald Slesnick’s decade as mayor at the turn of the millennium, knew her time was near Read Obituary
Jeannett was a spark…radiant, gracious and smart. My husband Keith and I regret the loss of one outstanding and remarkable woman.
George and I are so very sorry to hear of Jennett’s passing. We send our deepest condolences to you Don and your family.
Don and family , please accept our thoughts and prayers at the passing of Jeannett. She was truly an outstanding person and will be missed by all that knew her. May God bless her soul.
Jeanette was an amazing woman, wife, Mother, Citizen and lover of Coral Gables and a beloved Real Estate Agent. She will be missed and will remain in our hearts!
My heart is with you and your family in your time of sorrow. Jeannett Slesnick will be greatly missed, but her warmth, kindness, smile, and gentle spirit will be remembered forever. Her ability to make others feel seen, heard, and like they mattered was a special gift she possessed.
Jeannett was a “Powerhouse,” as I’ve often said. I have worked with the Slesnick family for over 25 years. I have learned so much from her, and I have never met someone who loved and cared for her community (City Beautiful) as much as Jeannett, always with a camera or cell phone as she loved to capture every moment.
She loved her work and always made sure she was kind to everyone. She truly loved to live life to the fullest. Working with her all these years has been an honor and a privilege.
With my deepest sympathy as we remember Jeannett Slesnick. “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose... All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”

Sending love and support to her husband, her children, and grandchildren. May they know that their mother/grandmother was beautifully loved by so many people and may they have the comfort of knowing she loved them too.
Having known Don and Jeannett for 20+ years, one of my favorite memory/experience with Jeannett was always seeing her, and Don, at the Actors Playhouse. Her seat was next to mine and she always referred me as her boyfriend.
She was such a wonderful soul who help guide Don in so many positive ways, as well as just being nice to others without regards to herself. She gave much to others without seeking anything in return.
Just a short few years ago, Don and Jeannett invited me to lunch with them and two of their grandkids in Naples. The twinkle in her eyes, and Don's, when they were with their grandkids was priceless and I realized at that time that her life had come full circle!
We all could learn a lesson from her life and that is to just be kind to everyone and help others less fortunate.
She fought a courageous battle against the dreaded "C" disease and now its time to Rest In Peace!
We will keep an eye out for Don, however save me a seat, at the playhouse in heaven, and we (Lourdes and I) look forward to seeing you again....Jeff Wilson
